The History of the Bonzos (Deluxe BF Edition) Part 4: 1981-2007

Finally, the series is complete. This was the most difficult to put together, and maybe the tracklist doesn't look all that interesting, but IMO, this is the best of the bunch. What surprises me is how good the flow of this set is, and the quality of work throughout. "Sir Henry At Ndidi's Kraal" is edited to music portions only. All in all, it's pretty good and I hope you agree. As with the other parts, each track is tagged with its original cover or single label. The last two tracks are not errors: they end the collection by pulling it around full circle.

Just an observation, but the anthology doesn't include anything by "Three Bonzos and a Piano" who released two albums 'Bum Notes' and 'Hair of the Dog'.

High Voltage Dogma!
There is enough Bonzo current in this post to warrant a 20 Amp breaker be installed in the canyons of your electrical panel. CLICK! It is about polarity! Although this band is consistently arcing back and forth between alternating and direct-straight(-) and direct-reverse(+) currents...the welding is always a slag-free perfect bead with no undercut/no inclusions...AND, maximum penetration. Thank you, BlankFrank! You have proven that archiving is entirely structural and that this band has always deserved your high standards of excellence. Beautiful job!

Best wishes,

Kind of sad, but also nice, too, that Neil Innes got a mention in the Grammy Awards "In Memoriam" segment last night, right after Peter Tork.

I was in England when "Springtime for Hitler in Germany" was released as a protest against rising right-wing nationalism in the country. Thanks for this exhaustive collection. I played the record for friends other day as relief from the impeachment of America's fuhrer (sic). The end was a bit scarier than I remembered.

It's "Wom Direction," btw. "Womb Direction" is a whole 'nother route entirely. :D :D :D

Thanks so much for these. I'm still having trouble processing Neil's passing and there are a few bits in here that I've been looking for, like forever! Never have I loved a band more than this.

Thanks so much for this, BlankFrank. Do you have the complete Off the Record album? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Fantastic work, I became a fan after hearing the equestrian statue in 1967 (I was 17) and seeing Neil Innes in Melbourne Australia in early 2000, or was it in the 90's?
