Marvin Gaye - Come Get To This: The Complete Singles

I made this as a reaction to the "new" You're The Man LP.  I love it and hate it at the same time.  One of these days, I'll reconfigure it to reflect closer to what the 1972 album could/should/would have been like.  The other reason is all of those seemingly hundreds of greatest hits-style repackages out these.  In the 35 years since Marvin passed, his legacy has been tainted, IMO, by the mismanagement of his catalog.  This is my attempt to partially put it right.

In the beginning, this project was easy: just grab the track from the Complete Motown Singles Collections.  After 1972, this project entered the Twilight Zone.  Single mixes/edits were scattered across different collections and in many cases, did not exist at all. It was like being on some ridiculous treasure hunt, without the fun.

Enter the "BF Edited" versions.  On some of these tracks, where I could, I did fade-ins, fade-out and cut them to the actual single length.  If you think this is blasphemous, please think of these, as I do, as placeholders for whenever the correct version finally appears. I think they turned out pretty good.  I challenge you to guess which ones I edited without looking at the tracklist!

As you can see below, every single in his lifetime is included, including duets, rarities, and a couple promo-only with a final volume of posthumous singles.  This set turned out nice, listenable and does a pretty good job of showing all of Marvin's career.  Each single is tagged with original A-Side art/label. @320.  Enjoy.  He's the man!
