Message Of Love: Pretenders Singles 1979-2017
A nice little project I put together after getting a huge Pretenders discography. Even then, I had to search for a bunch of really difficult to find B-sides. This is the whole story and surprisingly listenable, it came out really nice - everything you'd expect with its share of rarities that it a wonderful way to explore Chrissy and the boys' music. All @ 320 and each single is tagged with its original cover. Please let me know if you find any errors or omissions.

Thank you. Your work is excellent and much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteFantastic compilation. Like the Smiths, or The Clash there really were no "B" sides, only additional songs. There was however a Holiday EP released in 2008 (on a scarce promo CD and as a digital ep of 4 Holiday songs (all recorded in 2008): 2000 Miles, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and Blue Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks! great work!
ReplyDeletethanks for the efford!
Regards!
what a fine idea- it's a much longer list than i was expecting but all good. thank-you!
ReplyDeleterespect,

Of note, the last song, Let's Get Lost is the album version and does not Feature Neil Tennant as it does on the single version.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anon, for your eagle eyes and ears. Now Fixed!
ReplyDeleteMuch obliged to you, great work. One of my favourite Chrissie images is of her in London with Viv Albertine and others, pre-Slits, photographed at some squat or other, patiently teaching the girls some guitar chords. Chrissie was so integral to the whole London scene and the new dawn over the UK...and under-appreciated in her home country until she'd had success here first. Not the first US band to experience this. Certainly made for some incendiary shows on The Pretenders' 'glorious' homecoming tour mind you! Cheers anyway :D
